Honolulu Community College (HonCC) is offering a Senior Citizen Visitor Program for Fall 2022 to bona fide residents of the State of Hawai‘i who are 60 years of age or older.
How to Register
Follow the steps listed below once you’ve submitted your application and emergency forms.
Step 1: Acceptance Notification
Notification of your acceptance to HonCC will be mailed to the address indicated on your application. Included in the mailing will be a list of next steps that you will need to follow to register for classes.
Step 2: Submit Health Documents
Students must submit documentation of all Hawaii Department of Health immunizations and clearances to attend on-campus classes, apply for on-campus jobs, participate in activities on any UH campus, or attend on-campus appointments/meetings.

Step 3: Registration Passes
Your Senior Citizen Passes will be mailed to you the week of August 15, 2022. You will be allowed to attend up to two classes per semester at Honolulu Community College. All health and vaccine requirements must be met to receive your passes.

Step 4: Instructor Approval
Senior acceptance into any class is subject to the instructor’s approval. You must obtain approval for every class you wish to attend as a senior participant. You may seek instructor approval to attend a class as a senior participant by presenting the senior citizen pass to the instructor beginning August 22, 2022. The instructor must sign off on the Senior Citizen Pass. Submit your signed Senior Citizen Pass(es) to the Admissions Office no later than August 30, 2022 to complete the application process. Step 5: Review University of Hawai‘i Policies
No tuition and fees will be charged for the classes you attend as a senior citizen participant. You are expected to comply with all University of Hawai‘i policies while attending classes as a senior citizen participant at the campus.
No record of your enrollment at the College will be kept unless you enroll as a regular student and pay the applicable tuition and fees for other credit classes. You will not receive any credit for classes that you attend as a senior participant. Senior participants may not request credit for attended classes at a later date.
Senior citizen participants are not eligible to receive a UH Student ID card. Library resources and services may be limited or restricted, such as access to online subscription resources (i.e. research databases). Senior participants are eligible for a Library Community Card to check out physical books from the collection.
Step 6: Purchase Parking Pass, if needed.
Senior participants may purchase parking permits at our Cashier’s Office. Permit fees are $25 per semester. The Senior participants may purchase parking permits at our Cashier’s Office. The Cashier’s Office accepts only cash, check, or debit card.
To purchase a permit, present the following to the Cashier’s Office:
- Signed Senior Citizen Pass
- Your Valid Driver’s License
- Vehicle Registration Certificate
- Insurance Card
- Parking Permit Application (available at the Cashier’s Office)
Step 7: Submit Senior Citizen Pass to Admissions Office
Remember to submit your signed Senior Citizen Pass to the Admissions Office no later than August 30, 2022 to complete the application process.
The Senior Citizen Visitor program is not offered in the summer.
The Senior Citizen Pass for Fall 2022 is valid for the Fall 2022 semester only. If you wish to continue the following semester at Honolulu Community College, you will need to submit another UH application.
