We are excited to have you join our Honolulu Community College (HonCC) ‘ohana! Follow these easy steps once you’ve submitted your application.
How to Register
STEP 1: Acceptance Information
Your acceptance to HonCC will be mailed to you. Please read all documents carefully as it will provide you with a list of next steps in order to register for classes.
If additional information is needed to process your application, you will receive a letter in the mail describing the information needed to complete your application. Please submit the information requested as soon as possible.
STEP 2: Submit Health Clearance (If taking classes on HonCC Campus)
Students must submit documentation of all Hawaii Department of Health immunizations and clearances to attend on-campus classes, apply for on-campus jobs, participate in activities on any UH campus, or attend on-campus appointments/meetings.
COVID-19 VACCINE REQUIREMENT

STEP 3: GET A UH USERNAME
Upon acceptance, you can create a UH Username. Click on “Get a UH username” and fill out the Check Status Form. You will then be asked to create a UH username, secret questions, and a password. This account allows you to register for classes, check your financial aid status, check grades, make online payments, sign-up for payment plans, and more. If you need assistance email the Outreach Center.
STEP 4: TAKE THE PLACEMENT TEST
The following are the different types of placement options you can choose from:
- Placement Option #1: Self-report your placement scores. Download the Self-Report Form (PDF)
- Placement Option #2: Submit SAT, ACT, SBAC, or HiSET scores
- Placement Option #3: Take Online EdReady Placement Exam. View this tutorial for assistance
- Placement Option #4: Placement Option #1: Self-Report Form (PDF) your placement scores. This is not an option for students using VA benefits.
- Placement Option #2: Submit SAT, ACT, SBAC, or HiSET scores
- Placement Option #3: Submit an official high school transcript and/or meet with an Academic Counselor to evaluate your college transcripts.
- Placement Option #4: Take the Accuplacer Test. Schedule an appointment with the Testing Center.
A physical copy of your acceptance letter and a valid Photo ID are required to take the Accuplacer at the Testing Center located in the Kaukahoku building (Bldg. 7), Room 313. View the Testing Center placement schedule
English and math placement are required and are very important! Your English and math placement will determine what levels of English and math you will need to take.
*Farrington High School students have specific testing dates on their campus; please contact your High School College and Career Counselor for additional information.
