We are excited to have you join our Honolulu Community College (HonCC) ‘ohana! Follow these easy steps once you’ve submitted your application.
How to Register
STEP 1: Acceptance Notification
A PDF copy of your acceptance letter to HonCC will be sent to you via email to the address that you indicated on your admissions application. Please read the email carefully as it will provide you with a list of your next steps in order to register for classes.
If additional information is needed to process your application, you will receive an email describing the information needed to complete your application. Please submit the information requested as soon as possible.
STEP 2: Apply For Your Student Visa
Once accepted, HonCC will mail your form I-20 which is the document you will need to apply for your F-1 student visa. Check with your local Embassy or Consulate for more information.
STEP 3: Pay the I-901 SEVIS Fee
- The $350 SEVIS fee is required before the VISA interview

STEP 4: Get a UH Username
Detailed directions will be sent to you in your acceptance letter. This account allows you to register for classes online, check grades, pay online, and much more!
STEP 5: Meet With An Academic Counselor and Register for Courses
Once you have completed your placement test and your TB test has been cleared locally, please meet with an Academic Counselor for course registration. An Academic Counselor can assist you by reviewing previous courses taken (if applicable) and determining which courses are needed to complete your program requirements. All first-time college students who never attended an institution in the U.S. are required to complete the New Student Registration (check your emailed acceptance packet for more information).
STEP 6: Pay Your Tuition and Fees By The Posted Deadline
After you have registered for classes, tuition can be paid online through MyUH Services using a credit card or in person at the Business Office (Building 6) using cash, check, or credit card. View calendar for tuition deadlines
STEP 7: Purchase Your Books and Supplies
Visit the HonCC Bookstore to purchase any books and supplies you may need for your classes.
