Division 1 is putting together a "wish list" for our faculty needs for media in the classroom for the coming year(s). This is to assist us in planning our next classroom purchases, so our faculty and students may be provided with the most useful and comprehensive equipment/software necessary. IN THIS SECTION consider what type(s) of computer you would like to use for your teaching? NOTE the PRO/CON points for each type:

Computers wired to the HCC network must be configured/locked by the HCC IT staff.
PRO - HCC IT staff will provide limited repair/support services if you buy recommended equipment and software.
CON - You can NOT install/change software yourself and may not be able to use certain software or hardware.

Wireless computers (laptop & portable)
PRO - They need NOT be locked by the HCC IT staff, you can install and change software and hardware easily. (Or you CAN have the HCC IT folks set them up if you wish, and enjoy the advantages listed above.)
CON - If not locked by the HCC IT staff they can NOT be connected to the HCC wired network and will NOT be repaired or supported. They CAN be connected to the slower wireless network but will NOT print to the network printers in 7-604.
