Describe the new economic, political, and technological forces and developments that emerged in Western Europe in the late Middle Ages and Early Modern period (1300 - 1600). Explain how these new ideas, inventions, and institutions made Western Europe unique, dynamic, and more powerful.
Describe the important role that empires have played in history - in changing, enriching, destroying and increasing interchange between cultures. Support with specific references to one of the key empires covered.
