COMPLETE THE FASFA4CASTER
(last update Thu, Sep 6, 2007 )

What is the FAFSA4Caster?
  • The FAFSA4Caster is an online database that will give you an estimate on the amount of money your family is expected to contribute to your education (EFC). This amount will determine how much free money you may be eligible to receive from the government for your education. The information you enter into the FAFSA database will be kept there for 1 year. After January 1st of your senior year you just need to update your information and submit your FAFSA online.

 Who should complete the FAFSA4Caster?

  • Every junior in high school who is thinking of going to college should submit the FAFSA4Caster. This will allow you and your family time to start planning on how you will pay for college.
  • Click here for documents you need to complete the FAFSA4Caster.

What happens if I complete the FAFSA4Caster before my junior year?

  • You will still get your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) amount but the data entered will only be saved for 1 year, then it will be deleted and you will have to reenter all of your information in your senior year.

Will the FAFSA4Caster guarantee me money for college?

  • No. The government makes changes to financial aid rules and regulations each year. The FAFSA4Caster is an estimate based on the rules this year; changes may be made by the time you graduate from school resulting in a different award amount.
