Honolulu Community College's First Year Experience
Honolulu Community College's First Year Experience focuses on providing first-year students the support and resources needed to successfully navigate their transition from highschool to college. The First Year Experience (FYE) is an institutional commitment by the Honolulu Community College to the success of the first-year student. FYE places the highest institutional priority on introducing the new student to support services, campus resources, committed counselors, staff and faculty focused solely on providing the information, tools and skills the first year student needs to transition, learn, grow, and succeed in College. FYE provides a comprehensive package of services to help students navigate their way through their first year of college. Services include but are not limited to: Learning Communities; peer mentoring and tutoring, guidance counseling, career, and academic advising, financial aid application assistance, computer and technology training, and cultural enrichment activities. Students will receive support from well-qualified staff who are dedicated to helping students with their academic goals and needs.
